THE RETURN OF THE PHALANX
The Rottweiler Bachelor Party was supposed
and meant to be a sort of "one-night-stand" The band assembled
to do a thing then and then only. By now, this "one-night-stand"
has turned into a "two-nights-stands" and invites from
the world will soon pull this vehicle to a "four-nights-stand"
Saturday 24th July 2006, the Rodent-Phalanx
captured the souls of some 50 people when they brought the old consept
"live@theFarm back to life.
The audience was astonsihed(!) Some of them had heard the band before.
Their immediate response was that THIS was better than ever!
In the absence of Rottweiler, which is currently suffering from
honeymoon babe- and horseback riding in Mongolia(!), Arnie
Metalroar grabbed the mic and bursted the walls of sound
with his shimmering voice.
Eerie Hex tricked the guitar
and howled out the old, glory Van Halen "Eruption" while
Bullwart handled the bass
as steady as one may expect from that crappy lad.
Unfortunately, Gorm Sputnique
is currently guiding his choir in northern norway, so them drums
were treated by Magnus Sobieski.
He did an outstanding job, that lad just steppin' in this way!
Next, Rodent-Phalanx is invited to rock on the Irish National Skiing
teams party in Oslo Friday 28. July 2006. Then you may be able to
get your ears saturated by immense noise at the Rumble in the Jungle
festival, Saturday 29. july 2006.

WTF was that ????(!)
... Ashes promised drummer did never
appear --- that is 3 years ago --- and, somehow, Rodent-Phalanx
died --- and this time, the band really died for real ...
Did it? Yes! Silence was about to
absorb mother earth. People were about to gray. Rock was about to
fade. Music was about to be shouted down under by the oral diahorroea.
The Phalanx was a slowly, fading tale of what rock greatness once
was ...
But what happened recently - Saturday, May 13. 2006?? From the ashes
of nothing - from the hidden, muddy, dark, dirty holes around the
world; Metalroar, Hex, Sputnique and Bullwart (former Kolyma) catched
a surprising call call from an unexpected source, the Best Man of
Rottweiler. They replied, and carefully they assembled, hit some
rehearsal ground and re-captured their home: The Rock'n Roll Stage!
The event was Johnny Rottweilers
Bachelor party at Midtstuen Skole.
Johnny was the only one without knowledge. But within minutes, he
entered the stage, morphed his civil shell and spawned as the Johnny
Rottweiler hi-end werewolf-monster ego - the ultimate him! - and
ruled the stage as none can do after him.
Immediately, the Eyes of the God of Rock'n Roll changed focus; from
somewhere less important to a sparkling navel, an old - though new
- hotspot in the world:
The resurrected Rodent-Phalanx. |

Got a drummer!
It didn't take the band long before
yet another excellent drummer found his way to the Phalanx!
His name is C. Inlay, an outstanding
lad well known to Ahe Draven from earlier days. He joined the band
last week and made his way through the new RP Pioneer Rock Show
in an excellent way! The band is indeed excited and happy: finding
Zodiaks equal seemed impossible - he was and still is too bloody
good! - but; fortunately: they did!
The band has now returned to their
foundations and rehearses Black Sabbath songs like Iron Man, Sabbath
Bloody Sabbath, A National Acrobat and Children of the Grave - and
they'll continue with songs like Highway Star, Black Night and Burn
by Deep Purple before making their way through some Rainbow, Heep
and Zeppelin tunes. Even a good old goodie from Scorpions is expected
to appear in the show!
The show is supposed to hit the road
during this coming autumn.
Besides this, Rodent-Phalanx is still
working on their major jason.burns project which is indeed complicated
and advanced - it'll burst your stage some day |

Back in business!
One year with lead guitarplayer Eerie
Hex as bloody busy soldier way south and far away from the band
has passed.
He's now doing his gunning duties
at Gardermoen, not far from the bands home playground. This means:
Rodent-Phalanx is about to escalate it's activity and return to
banging business.
The bands priority is to work on
with the jason.burns project, now picking up the ouverture and the
Cold Shivers section before moving on with The Virulent Void. These
songs will be recorded in the Yri studio this coming autumn for
a complete Christmas release of jason.burns section one. Secondary,
the band will do things with their Live Rotten show for coming autumn
shows.
The band has, unfortunately, lost
it's excellent drummer Zodiak. He left for further musical-performance
education in Liverpool, England. The band is though catching up
by - most hopefully - completing the lineup once again with a very
promising new drummer. At the moment the drummer is ill and it's
not yet known when he'll be able to team up with the band for rehearsals.
Else: all bandmembers were dutied
to watch the recent Iron Maiden show in Oslo. All members are stunned
and appreaciated! Great, Maiden! Just simply Great Maiden! Next
duty is the Deep Purple & Uriah Heep show (since all Ozzy tickets
ran out too bloody fast!) |

Check it out!
At last: the first track from the jason.burns
affair is ready for a premiere! Do though sure abouut that this
is the first, rough mix of the song!
The band has spent a lot of time
in the Yri studio to record and establish the trax they wanted for
this special song. It's the fifth in the jason.burns legend, but
the first one to be recorded and pre-released. Next, the band is
going back to the studio to record the first four trax of the jason.burns
project. That's "The Foreboding", "The Cold Shiver",
"Virulent Void" and "Endarkened" All songs will,
most hopefully, be released this coming autumn.
All those who wonders where the final
mix of "I am the Devil" is must wait a month or so. We'll
do two more mixes before the master. But, to be kind: the song is
allready available in the Media - MP3 section on this site! Download
now and check it out! |

THE
DEVIL'S ON TRAX!
So, now it has all begun: Rodent-Phalanx's
in studio recording the tunes of their coming nova: jason.burns!
Tons of expectations and frustrated
rockaholic desires related to this coming Rodent-Phalanx product
has NOT been spotted among the crowds. But this is what the band
is up to: they will give them those needs and desires with a recording
out of mind complex and beyond what the Phalanx detesters is willing
to accept.

what to do on that piano .... |

 |
|
It has begun.
God has allready spoken through Hex
and drilled his fingers across acres of tunes and over valleys of
echoes in "I am the Devil"; six trax of spice from his
God given hands along with Tom Thumb's steady guitar blossom and
Kolymas - as usual - dreadful bass.
That was today.
A good and promising day on earth:
The Rodent-Phalanx is finally rising and definitely leaving the
bare, boring, commercial, regurgitated metal ground for the millions
of metal, dulldressed gamecocks. They're now twisting the screw
of rock history one more time.

Fozzy
Ashborne has dreamt of studio life ever since he was five
inches tall. Strange, happy lad? Yap! |
 |
Dag Yri, the producer, is doing an
outstanding job
making the walls of sounds, crecendoes,
blended mattes and progressive musical circumstances optimal for
a full blooded rock'n roll act. All free from horrorfuzzy, treble
saturated, anarchy guitars. He spends time doing this. Giving advices.
Adding on experience. A professional's there for them; to make it
possible for Rodent-Phalanx to alive a work Kolyma spent two years
writing and the band one year to learn and rehearse.
There is more to do. It ain't over
yet. Next up on schedule: twenty five more tracks and then the voices

PROPER STUDIO FOUND?
Kolyma and Hex will inspect RP's potential
recording loaction this coming sunday.
Kolyma has made some calls and found
Yri studio at Finstad in Eidsvoll the most proper studio available
at the moment.
If the studio, terms and dealt prize
is accepted, the band will kick off recording the rythm sections
of "I'm the Devil" next week/week-end. |

New
years' rock release:
THE DEVIL PREMIERE!
jason.burns moves forward as the damn
complicated "I am the Devil" tune is ready for premiere
stage release in Sandefjord January 3rd. 2003!
Rodent-Phalanx has focused on the
premiere stage show for a long time. They regard the show as the
very first, important gig by the redifined and rearranged Rodent-Phalanx.
Intensive rehersals has been made
at both in Eidsvoll and Harestua - and by now; they seem ready to
go on stage shuffling old rp-bones off stage and present the new,
progressive Rodent-Phalanx - a journey into string usage not easily
found on norwegian band ground! |
 |
|

|
 |
 |
 |
|
The
Choir is strenghtened:
PHALANX GOES OPERA!
Known opera singer Hilde Mehlum is
now expected to board the jason.burns vehicle by mid january 2003
as the skilled leader and educator of The Rodent Choir.
Hilde Mehlum is an high degree educated
singer. She has her own choir and has been seen on the telly at
several occations. She's brought into the jason.burns project to
sing on the first recordings of "I am the Devil" in late
January.
Most hopefully she'll become a steady
part of The Rodent Choir; it'll for sure be a great advantage for
the band! |
 |
|
|
|
 |
 |
 |
|
The
Choir is established:
THE RODENT CHOIR!
As jason.burns moves forward with a
complete "I am the Devil" runtrough, the promised choir
- The Rodent Choir - teamed up and did an outstanding job at last
rehearsal!
While rumours says that Rodent-Phalanx
wont be able to complete their project - not even make through their
complicated jason.burns suite! - this very, last rehearsal proved
different! They made a complete "I am the Devil" runthrough
and did even add the choir voices! It's obvious that they'll be
able to do the song properly, but it'll take much more work to make
it work out fine. |

jason.burns
release :
LIVE@THE-FARM!
There will be a live@the-farm in May-June
2003! The band is planning to make their first jason.burns, public
run-through on their homeground: good, old Sunna Farm in Eidsvoll!
The show will be a complete run-through
with costumes, stage objects and multimediashow. The guests will
all be specially invited - that means: no open rock'n roll concert.
There will, if they can, be three bands at the farm this evening.
Rodent-Phalanx, Powermerge and a pure, young, unknown rock band
from Fredrikstad.
More info will follow as it comes

ROTTWEILER
ANNOUNCES:
EXPANDED UK-TOUR!
The bands' abroad manager, former singer
Johnny Rottweiler - now living in england - announced that the bands'
UK-tour will, most probably, be expanded with even two more gigs!
Rodent-Phalanx will hit the road
this spring for england to do their long awaited shows on original
rock'n roll ground: england! Rottweiler works on a tight tour programme;
three succeeding gigs on thursday, friday and saturday in Manchester,
Leeds and Liverpool.
The band originally planned to release
the full jason.burns in Manchester, but due to the hard work sewing
the many voices tightly together, the reasonable solution is to
kick off at least five jason.burns songs and some live.rotten trembles.
That means, unfortunately, that the band won't do the whole jason.burns
in england. |

GETTING SERIOUS!
Rodent-Phalanx, former known as the
most rotten, less dedicated, disasterous and crazy band on stage,
is now getting serious about their jason.burns project!
The band is now only rehearsing the
jason.burns material and spends hours on the indeed complicated
setup: dividied into four instrumental voices, three vocals and
upon that and a two girls choir, they need the time to make it all
fit. It's mixing up pure progressivity inspired by bands like Saga
and the demon alike, original Black Sabbath heavy metal. Besides
this, the written jason.burns transcribtion promises even jazz (Song:
Murder Groove) and guitar-piano blues duels (Song: The Jason Lounge).
The band is also now working hard
on the stage equipment. This is consisting of jason.burns costumes,
stage objects and the computeranimated projector multimedia show. |

THE COMPLETED LINEUP!
So
- at last! - the dream lineup of Rodent-Phalanx has been established!
Eerie Hex now reports that the band consists of a singer, a drummer,
a bassplayer, two guitarplayers and a keyboardplayer! Six musicians!
The name of the new lad - shame on me! - ain't known yet :-)
Both Eerie Hex and Kolyma - and also
former singer Johnny Rottweiler - dreamt of this lineup ever since
Gorm-Sputnique had to switch to them drums because tha band was
unable to find a new drummer.
Especially Metalroar disliked the
"keyboard-idea" bacause he wanted what he called a "classic
lineup" with two guitarplayers and nobody playing keyboard
(= the shadows lineup), so, new energy was never spent on further
searchs.
It is supposed that the new bandmember
will join the rehearsals this coming week and bring the necessary
solid soundpatterns to the music: patterns which will make Rodent-Phalanx
definitely differ from the rest of the music industry ... |
 |

 |

STRENGTHENING THE BAND
The
Jason Burns programme requires a choir and a keyboard! The band
has then, through Hex made a request to a fine keyboardplayer and
received a positive reply this far. He'll be involved in the rehearsals
and work as soon as possible. The bands instrumental lineup would
then be completed - for the first time in it's history!
The choir will consist of two girls.
One of them - in fact the sister of Hex - has responded positively
and will join up when the instrumentals in Jason Burns is rehearsed
and played well. The other girl is not asked yet, but will most
probably(!) join up - rumours says that she's got a fine voice! |

 |
 |
|
FIRST JASON REHEARSAL!
Rodent-Phalanx
performed their first Jason Burns rehearsal today and made their
way through the vocals on "I am the Devil" with Draven.
Besides this, Hex, Thumb and Kolyma had a taste of the tough parts
on "The Devildome" (a long instrumental passage inside
"I am the Devil"); it's gonna cost hours to make this
work out and sound good; but the band's gonna make it!
The
band did also jammed a pretty surprising song - a jazzy one! - called
"The Groovy Murder" The song will for sure surprise the
audience when played within the Jason Burns! |
 |
|
|
|
 |
 |
 |
|
A
LEGEND IS DEAD!
We're
unable to let it pass without commenting it: the legendary bass
player of The Who - appointed as the best and greatest bass player
of the 20-century by a collection of the biggest music magizines
in the world, died this weekend by unknown causes.
Rodent-Phalanx offer theirs condolences
to the family and the whole world of music; one of the most innovative
and inspiring bassplayers won't enter the stage again.
The
Who was supposed to hit the road again these days together with
Robert Plant. The tour will, as far as we know, go on even though
an replacement of Entwistle seems impossible. It was hard enough
- it took them 'bout ten years - to find a convenient substitute
to their former drummer, legendary Keith "The Loon" Moon.

A GOOD BLAST@ROCKSTOCK!
(B.Oozer/Hakadal) Rodent-Phalanx' comeback
on stage turned out awfully well!
The
band performed the traditional ouverture, Iron Man, Trailblazer,
Werewolf and Rock you all spiced up with new dazzlers like Punch
in punch out and the Hex' Van Halen sequence, Eruption. By all means,
people told us they were surprised. Due to former alco-nuked performances
by earlier lineups, this was indeed something else; the band is
back and now heading for some serious success. Beware - 'cause now
we're sober!
The band entered the tiny
stage in brand new costumes! Especially one must celebrate the bands
fresh new english singer, Mr. Draven. He entered the stage in a
manner one would expect; a way which concretes the state of the
band: as a probably cross between well known Ozzy and less known
Annie from Reading, he looked like the rock'n roll, life exhausted
and far-minded icon the world has been waiting for ever since Jim
Morrison drowned himself in whisky and pizza down in Paris way back
in Prekambrium. Visit his grave: you find it at Père Lachaise,
Paris!
 |
THE
REST ... |
The rest of the band entered
the stage as Pat Sharp copies, Wizards, punky-brits and far off
glammers. Tom Thumb, young guitarplayer, got a kick on the eighties
look - only missing Pat Sharps great hockey! Short tights, headband
and all necessary extras; Tom Thumb - a foul breath from the poodle
eighties! Zodiak - the great, new drummer; a taste of punky look
'n a sting of british underground. One hell of a precise drummer;
never does more than excactly whats needed to do excactly what's
necessary to make the tunes snarl! Kolyma, former dead drunk boozer
both on and off stage - recently brought back from Denmark, has
become somewhat sober and entered the stage in turquoise tights
and black top hat with only one elephant beer as prior support.
As usual, he did an awful job. Nobody really understands why the
bands' not replacing that less-talented minor brained bass junkie
...
 |
THE
WIZARD 'N HIS SEAMSTRESS! |
The bands seamstress, Lady
Hilde Hex from southern Kristiansand, had put down hours of work
in Hex' Wizard costume - he only missed a fine, Nimbus 2000 broomstick!
- great girl, she is! Hex beamed the audience and proved - yet again
- his definite superiour talent on the lead guitar. Without being
to loud, I may - still in respect of all the other great guitar
players at Rockstock - declare Hex as the evenings' souvereign six
strings handler ... none able to compare, none able to equalize;
only one souvereign guitar ... Hex.
 |
WHAT'S
NEXT? |
Enough costumes: music! This
was a comeback affair; what the band calls a liverotten gig ....
not seriuos - only fun out of pieces the band just wanna play for
now. From now on the band will spend almost all their available
time on their major project - The Lay of Jason Burns - a piece of
music we've spent almost two years writing; it'll take at least
one year only to be able to play it properly and to create the multimedia-show
to appear at the show - it'll fly in Manchester, UK - our first
abroad performance - our first real statement of what Rodent-Phalanx
is supposed to be. Before that, the liveRotten sequence will tremble
the ground at several stages ... continue your withered state: return
to the rodent-phalanx.com for continous conciousness!
NB! Pics of the event will be released
on these pages soon - our galleries has been down; they'll be up
soon! |

but well known" - Hex surprise guitar spasm and an Ashe 'n

Final breakthrough:
HEADING FOR MANCHESTER!
As
former singer Johnny Rottweiler goes abroad, he's about to plan

band will, most hopefully, shake the Manchester concrete by May/June/July

The

Metalroar will most probably join the gang and co-tremble the ground
with Rodent-Phalanx. |

LEAVES FOR MANCHESTER -
REPLACEMENTS DONE!
The
Rodent-Phalanx Rock'n Roll Cirkus stubles along the rock'n roll
line! Recently gorges Johnny Rottweiler announced his withdraw from
the Rodent-Phalanx: he'll be found at some school of media and film
in Manchester, UK. No surprise that he had to leave ... the band
is off course sorry - and so was - is! - he!
But
replacements has been done@the speed of light; former singer Ashe
Draven has returned from the cold and grabbed the mic like a dead
hungry predator yelling Iron Man with great strength. Along with
him, the band had - at last! - the pleasure of getting a great -
really good! - drummer. Very experienced through participation in
several other bands. Witgh high technical skills and deep insight
in progressive rock, rock history and the art of performance, he's
indeed a member to welcome!
The
band has made their first rehearsal with great success. They're

TOM THUMB JOINS THE PHALANX
Eerie
Hex was quick about finding Metalroars replacement in Rodent-Phalanx.
Tom Thumb, a young lad which had teamed with AnalAnimals on bass,
made the jump on Hex' request and showed up at the first Rodent
rehearsal without the bands former icon, Arnie Metalroar. His skills
on the guitar ain't decovered completely yet, but Hex says: he's
a good one - and when knowing the extreme skills of Hex, we do expect
alot .... Both Rottweiler and Kolyma liked what they heard - especially
the sound, which is clear, metal and sans the bugging 'n shimmering
treble ...
The
band began at scratch - just like a newborn band - with completely
new material. All songs were played fine - a promising opening of
Rodent-Phalanx mark#3. |
